2005 Snows Lake Vineyards "Two"

Kind of a bummer.

Rating: Lacking in enough flavor to make it obviously enjoyable, let alone justify the price tag.  $45

(Full disclosure: This wine was received as a press sample from the winery.)

The rest of the story: After the last wine we reviewed from Snows Lake, we had high hopes for this wine.

We tasted this wine at opening and then at intervals over the course of six-plus hours.  All the while it breathed in a decanter.  Surprisingly, it didn't change much.  Flat and acidic, it was lacking in...what is that term?  Ah, yeah...flavor.  That's it.

Let's be clear: this is a product clearly made at the higher end of the quality spectrum, but it lacks the foundation for greatness.  You have to think about it to appreciate it.  It's not obvious.

And at this price, it sure ought to be.

When Aunt Maude leaves you a pile of cabbage in her will, skip this wine and splurge on some of the "One".
