Review: 2006 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville

Iron Fist In A Velvet Glove

This is what people go to Napa Valley for. Noticeably better than the 2005, this is an extraordinary wine and perhaps the most impressive of the lineup. Very dark and dense in color. Deep intensity delivering on nose, mouth, and overall satisfaction. Present, but not obtrusive tannins.  89% Cabernet Sauvignon balanced with a spice rack of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.  $45
