Or How To Score Some Incredible Wine
Anyone paying attention to the steady stream of drivel coming from this site now knows that we're getting amped up for our First Annual Best Of Tasting/Fund Raiser. Next Monday (Dec. 27th), a healthy handful of lucky attendees will be descending on the scene to partake in some really good wine and a very worthy cause.
There will be drinking, laughter, fun, and shenanigans. But there will also be door prizes and - thanks to the incredible generosity of the many participating wineries - a slew of bottles up for grabs in the silent auction.
Oh, you can't make it to the event? You can still try to score some of the door prizes by donating to the Food Bank (be sure to write "Winethropology" in the comments section). But if you want to bid on the silent auction items, you can do so in advance. Okay, so it's not quite like being there since you can't jockey with other bidders, but you can put your best foot forward by sending us an email with your bid. Here's what's up for grabs:
2008 Andrew Murray Vineyards Syrah Thompson Vineyard Magnum (signed by Andrew)
2008 Andrew Murray Vineyards Grenache Terra Bella Vineyard (signed by Andrew)
2007 Andrew Murray Vineyards Esperance GSM Blend (signed by Andrew)
2008 Klinker Brick Winery Zinfandel Lodi
2008 Klinker Brick Winery Zinfandel Lodi Old Ghost
2008 Klinker Brick Winery Syrah Lodi Farrah's
2007 Gallo Cabernet Sauvignon Frei Ranch Vineyard
2007 Gallo Chardonnay Laguna Vineyard
2009 CousiƱo Macul Sauvignon Gris Maipo Valley
2009 Alamos Chardonnay
2007 Zaca Mesa Syrah Santa Ynez Valley Mesa Reserve
2007 HALL Merlot Napa Valley
All of these wineries have been recently shipped directly from the wineries (or their fulfilment centers), so you know they're in great shape. Collectively, these wines retail for close to $400 (if you can put your hands on them), so step up and raise your hand!
