Review: 2007 Blackstone Cabernet Sonoma Reserve

(Disclosure: This wine was received as a press sample.)

High marks for this Reserve line from Blackstone.  The Merlot was good, as was the Pinot - and now this.

Musty, dusty smelling, but really elegant looking.   In the mouth, though, WOW - right away you know this wine means business.  A grown-ups wine.  Hot, hot, hot attack. Tight and structured.  Really elegant aromatics as they unwind.  Bracing tannins, medium bodied, and loads of light-footed character.  Bravo!  Tasted blind and guessed to be $20.  Actually closer to $17-18.
