Bourbon For A Cause

Honorable Mention, Inexpensive Pinot

Looking for a wine to have on hand for when the neighbors pop over unexpectedly?  Pepperwood Grove has love been a mainstay in the value category - and for good reason.  Their Pinot Noir in the Groovy Green Bottle (received as a press sample) overdelivers at the rock bottom price of $8.  Full, rich, and smooth, what it lacks in sophistication it makes up for in universal accessibility.  Purists should look elsewhere, though, as Jeff Siegel, the Wine Curmudgeon, said of this wine, " long as you don't mind that it doesn't taste like pinot noir..."  But, really, purists don't reach this far down at the grocery store, do they?
