Many of the wines I've tasted from Cameron Hughes' latest venture are nearly indistinguishable from one another. But not the 2019 de Negoce Grenache Santa Ynez Valley OG 219 (Purchased, $15). Medium-bodied and beautifully translucent, it exudes Santa Barbara county from its nose right through its brilliant midpalate and into its moderately spicy finish. This is an honest, well-made wine that accurately reflects grenache's character, as well as Santa Ynez's particular allure. It'll age for the mid-term nicely, but I can't wait to open another bottle. And at this price, it deserves every bit of 93 points.
It's normally $15 a bottle plus shipping, but if you use this link, you'll get $25 off any $99 purchase (and I'll get a credit, too.)
